Check out Faker Chaser

My friend Kathryn is producing a film about a dude named Reggie that hunts down liars. Liars kind of suck, right? Reggie thinks so. Reggie, you see, is actually an ex-marine and the liars that he’s searching for are military vets who fake medals to get ahead. This kind of thing isn’t cool with Reggie because these “fakers” threaten the integrity and honour of national service. Here’s the catch: Reggie’s a bit of a faker himself. You see, before shipping out on his last tour he told Abby, the woman he loves, and her son Max, a lie. And when his hunt for fakers causes him to call into question his own fakery…well…you’ll just have to see the movie to find out what happens.

Sounds like a pretty cool premise, huh? A lot of people, Kathryn included, are currently working really hard to get this short film made. In the video above she and her co-producer, director and director of photography will tell you all about it. And while they’re working really hard they could also use some support to ensure that they can properly share this story. They’re screening it in May at the TIFF Light Box in Toronto and want to take it to festivals around the world. And you know what? They should. But they could definitely use your help to do it. Please check out their Indiegogo page to learn more about the film and see how you can help. Cheers. ~wbX

As we all know, the ’90s was a strange time, a 10-year period of sketchiness following the decade-long chemical high that was the 1980s. It was during that period that the folks at DC Comics decided that it would be a good idea to kill off Superman. Of course, this didn’t last very long and the Man of Steel was very promptly brought back to life.

I still read comic books, but during my teens I was in my comic-reading prime. Needless to say I read the entire “Death and Return of Superman” saga, an epic tale clearly written by people who had way to much fun during the previous decade.

This video is a hilarious retelling of that saga c/o Mark Landis, one of the writers of the move Chronicle. If you haven’t yet seen that film please do. It is BOSS. But for now, enjoy this vid. Even those of you who know next to nothing about one of the (arguably THE) most iconic characters ever created should get a laugh out of it. If you don’t, well, there’s probably something wrong with you. Please book an appointment with your doctor/psychologist/shrink posthaste. :-) ~wbX
